Whether you are a large group that would like the guarantee of a place for everyone on their own service, celebrating something special, or a group of like minded enthusiasts who want to experience something a little bit different, the South Tynedale Railway is always willing to accommodate special charter bookings fitted around the regular operating timetable.
The safety of visitors to the railway, our train crews and volunteers is paramount at all times and all special charters that are given access to track and facilities, not usually available to the public, are run in accordance with a special operating notice and begin with a safety briefing before the train is boarded.
After a visit by the Branch Line Society (BLS), Kev Adlam, BLS General Secretary, said;

Every single aspect of our interaction with your team was an example of the heritage railway scene at its best. We were particularly pleased that you cleared all available lines at the railway. We understand that the particular nature of this charter, with a more comprehensive series of operations, is time consuming. On the day members were delighted as they achieved more than the specification I advertised.
What was most pleasing as an organiser was the way it all just seemed to ‘happen’, including the ease at which the programme was delivered.”
