We are pleased to announce that we will be re-opening on Saturday 3rd July*

Things will look a little different this season. All journeys will be Alston to Slaggyford and return and our operating days will be Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays only.

Our Rover, Station Hopper and single journey tickets have been suspended for this season and trains will not be stopping at Kirkhaugh or Lintley.

Tickets will be pre book online and we have divided our carriages into bays to allow for social distancing should this be necessary.

We ask that visitors to our site:

  • Wear masks throughout their visit unless eating or drinking
  • Observe the one way system for entering and leaving our carriages
  • Make use of the hand sanitising stations which are to be found throughout the site

We are currently testing our new booking system and this will go live soon.

Ticket prices will be as follows:

Dogs are welcome on all our trains and throughout our site. Please select a dog ticket at the time of booking.

If you are planning on cycling to the South Tynedale Railway we charge a small price for bicycles on our trains. We allow bicycles, where space allows, for the small donation of £1.
