Travel back to the 1920’s on a spooky murder mystery train…

We love getting feedback from our visitors and lots of you have asked us for a Murder Mystery train…. So we’ve listened…. and the first ever Murder Mystery train will depart Alston station on Friday 25th October at 6.30 p.m.

An exciting mystery with a 1920’s theme will unfold before you as you travel through the darkening countryside and as it’s near to  Halloween expect some spooky goings on…

You’ll meet the cast and be welcomed on board with a warm punch infused with autumnal flavours and we’ll keep your glass topped up and serve you with a few nibbles popular in the 1920’s to keep you going until we break our journey at Slaggyford where the action will continue.

As the plot thickens you’ll be ready to collect some hearty soup and sandwiches for your return journey and if we make it safely back to Alston your puddings will be ready for you in the Crossing Café where the identity of the murderer will finally be revealed.

Having run some successful evening events in the summer, the team at STR have decided to trial an event at the shoulder of the year.

As Nikki House, catering manager says, “Autumn in the North Pennines can be chilly and we’ve devised a menu that will keep our murder hunters warm and cosy on the train until they return to the station. There’s a wealth of fruit and veg to choose from at this time of the year and we have chosen foods that fit nicely with the 1920’s theme”.

Tickets for this event are now available via our events page.

The early bird price expires on 30th September so don’t leave it too late to book…
