Afternoon Tea and Train Ride for Two
After a delicious afternoon tea and glass of fizz you’ll travel through the scenic South Tyne Valley up to Slaggyford in Northumberland where you will have time to take in the views and explore our restored station buildings before your return to Alston.
Arriving at ‘Number 12’ our 1930’s railway carriage situated on platform 2 at Alston railway station, you’ll be greeted with a glass of fizz and your tickets for a journey through the stunning North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Your afternoon tea, which consists of a selection of finger sandwiches, mini savouries, mini cakes, homemade cheese and fruit scones will be served on vintage china and accompanied by loose-leaf tea of your choice. A real feast for the senses! After tea, a train hauled by one of our vintage locomotives, will take you along the South Tyne Valley to the village of Slaggyford where you will be able to explore the newly restored station buildings and admire the views across the fells before returning to Alston.
