Afternoon Tea and Train Ride for One
A delicious afternoon tea, flute of fizz and a leisurely train ride through the stunning scenery of the South Tyne valley in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Arriving at ‘Number 12’ our 1930’s heritage railway carriage situated on platform 2 at Alston railway station, you’ll be greeted with a glass of fizz and your tickets for a journey through the stunning North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Your afternoon tea, which consists of a selection of finger sandwiches, mini savouries, mini cakes, homemade cheese and fruit scones will be served on vintage china and accompanied by loose-leaf tea of your choice. A real feast for the senses! After tea, a train hauled by one of our vintage locomotives, will take you along the South Tyne Valley to the village of Slaggyford where you will be able to explore the newly restored station buildings and admire the views across the fells before returning to Alston.
