The South Tynedale Railway Preservation Society is a registered charity and we rely on donations to help us work towards our charitable aims.

Our current fundraising appeal is to help us repair and maintain the wonderful Lambley viaduct.

Lambley viaduct is grade II Listed and  is one of nine viaducts along the former Alston to Haltwhistle branch line. It is a great example of Victorian architecture and may have been designed by the architect George Barclay Bruce, who was involved in the Alston line at about that time.

The viaduct spans the river South Tyne at Lambley with nine 17metre (56feet) wide arches supporting the deck which is 32m (108 feet) above the river.

Recently a chunk of masonry has fallen from the viaduct and repair works are scheduled to start in September.

Can you help us to maintain this wonderful structure which has stood for almost 175 years by making a donation?
