South Tynedale Railway is accessible to all of our visitors regardless of ability. There are large car parks at Slaggyford* and Alston and all station buildings are level access. An accessible lift is provided in the engineering workshop to provide access to the mezzanine viewing gallery. There are ramps to platforms and to the ticket office at Alston station. The buffet car at Slaggyford Station is very narrow and so we have provided wheelchair suitable tables in the ticket office where you can enjoy your refreshments.

On every train journey we haul a carriage with access for wheelchair users and all areas of our sites are dog friendly so assistance dogs are welcome everywhere.

We have accessible toilets and baby change facilities at both Slaggyford and Alston stations.

We make our events and experiences as accessible as we can. For some events you will be asked for information at the time of booking and thisĀ  will enable us to meet your needs as best we can.
